A Symbiont Operations Engineer’s focus is on deploying, securing and maintaining Symbiont nodes and networks in production. Each node is self-hosted by one of our clients and administered by them using tools that we develop, running as a set of containerized services on Kubernetes. These nodes are connected in a decentralized network, which our clients use to communicate with each other. An Ops Engineer’s primary responsibilities revolve around troubleshooting, debugging, and issue tracking for mission-critical deployments of our software, both during normal business hours and as part of an on-call rotation.

An Ops Engineer at Symbiont also spends a significant amount of time developing the tooling and packaging that allow us to package our software in a form our customers can use. Additionally, a DevOps Engineer provides support for both internal and external end users of the Symbiont platform via documentation, demonstration, and direct communication, as well as the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated tools and systems to increase developer efficiency and software stability.
